Turqoise Medusa

I love anything with Medusa design by Gailavira ... this time I made it with Turqoise. Like my Medusa Bangle in http://beautyndbeads.blogspot.com/2010/05/medusas-bangle.html the combination of Turqoise and copper were kind of mystical and magical.

As for the chain, I made just a short Byzantine chain mail then continued with simple cord.

I think this pendant is very beautiful... =)

Antique Ming Porcelain

Tomorrow I will participate in the MURI record-breaking event (Indonesian version of Guiness Book of Record) for making the longest necklace in Indonesia. For that event I was given the task to create a pendant using Agarwood and antique Ming porcelain.

The frame of the porcelain was made with gun metal wire woven with silver wire then the swirly ornament was coiled with gun metal wire. The combination was really amazing... especially with the swirly part, it really enhanced the beauty of the antique porcelain.

The Agarwood was attached above the porcelain and a few beads of Lapiz Lazuli and Swarovski crystal was added on the both side. And to frame it, I added a coiling wire.

As I looked at the finished pendant, I think it kind of looked like an Ancient Amphora jar.... what do you think?

ANCIENT TREASURE KEY

As I mentioned in my previous post, I felt like making another key after I finished the copper key. So I made the second key with colored artistic wire, gun metal, to make it looked more vintage.

At first, I just used 3 mm Czech fire polished beads for the ornament but then I thought it needed something for the vocal point.

I chose a heart shape swarovski crystal, since the shape of the key was also heart shape.

After I attached the vocal point, I was satisfied because it really looked soo beautiful. The heart crystal shines beautifully against the dark colored wire. I wished I could take a better picture since it was not easy to take picture of crystal.

It really looked like an old key of some lost treasure in some fairytale stories, right?

So I called it Ancient Treasure Key.

COPPER KEY

Actually this design was in my head for quite sometime. I even made several sketched and finally today I decided to make it using copper and turquoise.
I really like the outcome...... I think it's even better than the sketched... maybe I will make another "key" using different color wire... =)

Commission pieces : Amethyst Set

She said she was an admirer of my work and she frequently visited my site. She wanted me to make her a necklace and a pair of studs using amethyst stones for a present to her colleague. She specifically wanted the design like http://beautyndbeads.blogspot.com/2010/05/brooch-for-kebaya.html for the necklace.

And she wanted no contrast color, just purple color. So, to give a touch of glamour, I added a few swarovski crystals and rhinestones. I also made the chain myself.

As for the studs, I used 10 mm faceted flat amethyst surrounded by rhinestones. I really loved the outcome... I think this set look so pretty, don't you think?

I really hope she like it as much as I do.... =)
