A VINTAGE TREASURE

Lately I have been fascinated with batik. So with that spirit, I made this brooch using big druzy mixed with swarovski to add more glamour and 'bling-bling'. I chose earth tone colors to give an 'old' and vintage look and definitely a prefect brooch to be worn with batik.
This brooch is indeed a vintage treasure....

PURPLICIOUS

To me, it means deliciously purple... ^.^ I love the color purple...
I could easily fell in love with any stones in purple color. Like this amethyst stone if you could see it closer, its not really clear and perfect because there was a little "cloud" inside the stone.
But that's nature... to me the beauty of the stone came from the "imperfectness" of nature.
I also made a pair of earrings to complete the set. Enjoy......

Crochet Brooch

Its been quite a while since I did my last crochet cuff. This time I wanted to experiment using crochet technique. So I came up with an idea to create this brooch. To be honest I didn't expect much because on paper it didn't look good. Then after I add the frame to the crochet piece, it started to look nice. When I added the obsidian, I was so sure that it was going to look gorgeous. And I was right.... it looked absolutely gorgeous....

Did I tell you I love obsidian? Until recently i saw obsidian only from pictures, then when I saw it... they are really beautiful... very clear like crystal and comes in beautiful colors. Like this golden honey color obsidian... I think the pictures will explain better than me.

Now you can understand why I love obsidian, can't you?

My experiment with gun metal

What a name for wire, right? Yup.. gun metal was a name of color in artistic wire. I was not interested when time I saw it at first. But when a friend used it for her bangle, it looked so interesting. So I bought 2 spools. For this experiment I used a colored druzy because I think the greenish color of the druzy would go well with gun metal color.

Let me tell you about this gun metal, the wire was not as hard as brass or even silver. It's definitely forgiving for your hands. Although it's not "non tarnish"... the color is gorgeous... its sooooooo vintage.... So be careful when using the flat nose, not to scratch the wire, if you decide to use it.

My experiment came out very nice.... I love the vintage look by using gun metal. I think I'm going to make a brooch unfortunately I'm out of pin... hihihi.... but I better share the pictures with you first then buy the pin later, right?
